At Tagged, you’ll be center-stage in building the next generation social networking platform at a profitable startup that leads its industry in growth. We are actively expanding our PHP / Java / Oracle codebase with more Web 2.0 features, such as expanded community messaging, 3rd-party web services integration, user-generated content management, multimedia content integration, and more. Your primary roll will be to expand our front-end and back-end web technologies, which include extensive caching tiers, database/application partitioning, and asynchronous DHTML/Javascript. You will also be involved in optimizing and improving the core application.

• Build new social networking features
• Extend and create innovative front-end and back-end solutions, including extensive data caching systems, database and application partitioning, AJAX communications, and more
• Help us meet aggressive performance and scalability goals and keep up ahead of dramatic growth
• Work with revenue team to develop customized proposals and presentations for prospective clients and partners
• Help define the Tagged user experience

• Proven experience in developing complex, high-traffic web applications
• 5+ years web application or software development
• Advanced knowledge of SQL (Oracle preferred)
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• BS or MS in Computer Science

Nice to have:

• Expert knowledge of PHP/Java and other web-centric technologies
• Experience with multi-threaded Java programming
• Experience creating highly scalable and/or distributed solutions
• HTML / CSS proficiency
• Background in physical sciences, mathematics, or statistics
